|CSI Symphonic Band Concert||
Time: 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM
The College of Southern Idaho Music Department will present a performance by the CSI Symphonic Band on Tuesday, May 1 at 7:30 PM in the CSI Fine Arts Auditorium. The band will be directed by CSI faculty member George K. Halsell, and the theme of the concert is Magical Mozart.
The concert will feature French horn soloist Elizabeth Davidson playing the Concerto No. 3 in E-flat Major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Davidson, a Burley native and graduate of Capital High School in Boise, is a first-year music major at CSI.
The band will also perform another Mozart work, the Overture to his comic opera The Impresario, AgŁero, a pasodoble by the Basque composer Josť Franco Ribate, the British Eighth March by American composer Zo Elliott, Vaclav Nelhybelís exciting Festivo, a beautiful arrangement of Loch Lomond by Frank Ticheli, Percy Graingerís delightful The Immovable Do, and Chorale and Alleluia by Howard Hanson. The eveningís performance will also feature the CSI Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble performing Down In The River, arranged by Nampa-based composer David Gluck.
